Why Startups Fail

In the context of startups, "standing aside" for founders typically refers to a situation where the founder(s) relinquish some control or day-to-day involvement in the business, often due to: * Shifting focus: The founder(s) may transition to focus on different strategic aspects of the business, like fundraising or long-term vision, while delegating operational tasks to a capable team. * Bringing in expertise: As the startup scales, the founder(s) may recognize the need for specialized skills or experience they lack and bring in external talent to lead specific areas. * Stepping back: In some cases, a founder(s) might choose to step back from active involvement due to personal reasons, health concerns, or simply a desire to move on to new ventures.Regardless of the reason, it's crucial for founders to carefully consider the implications of "standing aside" and ensure a smooth transition to maintain the momentum and stability of the startup.

As of now, Antler supports over 1900 #femalefounders across our 27 locations. In Canada, over 27% of our startups are led by female CEOs. One such is Christabel Kim whose story is a testament to the power of #diversity and tenacity in the entrepreneurial world.๐ Christabel's international upbringing, from Korea to Malaysia, instilled in her a unique perspective, enabling her to challenge conventional norms. At just 14, Christabel set her sights on studying and working in North America, a dream she relentlessly pursued. Her post-graduation decision to move to Toronto, amidst a recession and without a job lined up.๐ผ Christabel's professional journey began in management consulting, where she honed her skills in data analysis, problem-solving, and business strategy across major cities like New York and Montreal. It was during this time that she discovered her passion for #tech and #product management, notably through a project developing a robo advisor product for a global wealth manager. This experience was transformative, turning her focus to building products. Her roles in big tech companies and as a principal product manager at an insurtech startup further solidified her love for creating impactful technology solutions.๐ซ At Antler, Christabel's passion for technology and her vision for transforming the B2B sales process found the ideal ecosystem to flourish. It was inspiring to see her leverage the Antler platform, not just to refine her startup idea, but also to find the right co-founder, underscoring the importance of the right partnership in entrepreneurship.๐ For those aspiring to make their mark in the world of tech #startups, Christabelโs story is a beacon of inspiration, showing how diverse experiences and a bold approach can shape a successful entrepreneurial path. Read more about Christabelโs journey using the link in the comments. If you want to start your own startup journey, our next Antler cohort in Toronto starts in March and applications are now open!

In a competitive market, gaining a competitive edge can be the difference between success and failure for IT startups. Outstaffing offers a strategic advantage, granting startups access to a vast array of specialists across various IT domains. This advantage enables startups to tackle a wide range of tasks with precision and expertise, positioning them favorably in the market. Additionally, outstaffing allows startups to operate on a global scale, breaking down geographical barriers and broadening their reach.Prominent startups like Airbnb and Dropbox have leveraged the outstaffing advantage to establish a strong market presence. By tapping into specialized talents through outstaffing, they have gained a competitive edge, solidifying their positions in the IT industry. #outstaffing #partnerships #reliability #trust

I need your help - can you connect me with startup #investors in Australia or New Zealand? Read on below ๐For the last year Iโve been working on a new startup with some very talented peopleโฆitโs called Givving. Our first app is now LIVE (but youโll need us to give you access). We solve a universal problem that everyone experiences each and every year - choosing the perfect gift. The market we play in is worth trillions of dollars globally; in Australia alone the Servicable Adressable Market is *at least* $5 billion dollars.Hereโs how you can help -> Iโm looking for introductions to pre-seed / early stage investors in Australia and New Zealand who we can share our pitch deck with. Itโs usually better to be introduced than to go in cold after all...If youโre curious or you know any potential investors I should meet, please comment or DM me ๐

Sometimes you get so bogged down in looking at the day to day, week to week, month to month, year to year numbers in your own work/team/startup, that you don't get a chance to look at the bigger picture. This summary by Sift is like a litmus test of what a "great startup" looks like. And having a Founder like Dee, who knows their numbers, is especially amazing here because it reminds us that we are in fact great. It helps to emphasise to our team that we've got the product, people, customers, demand and problem solving skills to be considered one of the best startups. Onwards and upwards... maybe with these stats someone will remember to include Boundless in any lists of the top startups in Ireland + the UK in 2025? ๐ ๐ค๐

Startups are hard. Really hard. Imposter syndrome & self doubt are daily realities. As a Founder, I constantly question if we're making the right decisions, and growing as fast as we could/should.And then I look at Sifted's 100 fastest growing UK & Ireland startups report published today, and realise that Boundless's 2 yr CAGR (metric used to rank the list) puts us comfortably in the top 40, and ahead of any featured ๐ฎ๐ช company...say what now!?! ๐คฏ Not only that:- we're in the top 50 in terms of revenue generated- 90% of these co's have raised more money than us (most significantly more!)- 90% have larger teams (i.e. higher cost base) than ours (most much larger)- and just 13% are profitable like us.Today feels like a good day ๐ Sifted report: https://lnkd.in/eyJNfm6w
